Here’s what it will look like:
Here’s how to run the event:
Start the event with an ‘all-in’ game of Zombie tag and invite competitors to take part in an ‘Oztag’ style warm up, with every man for himself.
Give everyone a piece of fabric for their back pocket and a goal to grab each other’s ‘tags’. Once you’ve lost your tag, you’re a zombie!
Give your game a time limit or knock players out as they lose their tag and see who is the last player to escape with their lives!
Next, divide your competitors into beginner, intermediate and advanced categories, and let the games begin!
Create a series of ‘death by’ workouts, challenging members to complete pull-ups, burpees or other moves, with a run in between. Use an ETMOTM (Every Two Minutes, On the Minute) format and increase the number of reps, or shorten the amount of time they have to run with each round.
You can push your advanced competitors to the limit by getting them to make their dash with a kettle ball (or a really big pumpkin).
Boost the spooky vibes by decorating your box and handing out sweet treats to the kids who come to watch.
Encourage dress ups and reward the best costumes to boost the great vibes of the evening.
After the event, cook up some sausages or serve some hamburgers to feed your ravenous zombies.
Promoting the event:
Great prizes will encourage your members to sign up! Offer swag or member bonuses. Alternatively, charge an entry fee and put some of the costs towards cash rewards for the winners.
To promote your event, put up flyers around your box a few weeks before October 31st. Share the details on social media and send an email to your database.
Keep this competition open to members only but encourage them to bring their family and friends to watch the action.
